The world
The Glitter Tour, 1973
A five-piece glam revue touring Britain in 1973 whose stagecraft is literally true - when one more performer joins the bill, everyone already on it climbs a step, and the whole show gets bigger. A step shows on whoever climbed it as the split, a hard-edged halo of flat concentric colour bands that steps outward one ring at a time, never more than five rings, each ring a flat screen-printed band with a torn outer edge. Everyone here is a performer or crew on a poor loud tour, and the materials are the ones they really had - glitter-flocked velvet, satin, vinyl, mirror tile, chrome tube, gaffer tape, plywood flight cases, burnt carpet and hand-screened paper. Nothing is futuristic, medieval, digital or polished, and the company live in each other's pockets as a chosen family whose affection is ordinary and never remarked on.

How it plays
A superfriends deck that plays twenty planeswalkers across all five colours. Tam makes every planeswalker spell cost one less, and taps to proliferate once for each planeswalker type you control, so three or four walkers on the board all gain loyalty every turn and their ultimates arrive turns early. Doubling Season, Oath of Teferi, Deepglow Skate and Ichormoon Gauntlet multiply that further, Supreme Verdict, Toxic Deluge and Blasphemous Act clear away the creatures that would attack them, and Carth the Lion, Arena Rector and Primevals' Glorious Rebirth keep the walkers coming. Thirty-six lands with fetches, shocks and Command Tower pay for the five-colour activation. Built from a proven decklist with over 39,000 views and 243 likes, so this EDH proxy deck plays as well as it looks. The full decklist is in the photos.
